Horizontal Rebellion

Sometimes you simply have to lie down. No Great Dane required.

Horizontal Rebellion is a little line drawing about the ancient and highly underrated art of doing absolutely nothing for a while.

A woman in bed. A quiet moment. No productivity. No obligations. No heroic transformation. Just horizontal.

Dogs have understood this principle for centuries. They lie down when they are tired, when they are comfortable, when they are bored, when they have had enough, or simply because the floor is there.

Women can do that too. And perhaps we should.

There is something mildly rebellious about refusing, for once, to be useful. To leave the to-do list untouched. To stop optimizing. To let the world carry on without your immediate supervision.

Five straight, as the Germans say.
